UBO-register Cyprus: Richtlijnen voor indiening in 2026, deadlines en boetes
Every company, SE, and partnership registered in Cyprus must declare its ultimate beneficial owners — any natural person holding more than 25% of shares or voting rights, or otherwise in control — on the free electronic register at ubo.meci.gov.cy. There are three deadlines to track: 90 days from incorporation, 45 days to report any change, and an annual confirmation between 1 October and 31 December that you must file even when nothing has changed. Since December 2024 the penalty for missing a deadline is €100 on the first day and €50 for each day after, capped at €5,000 and charged to the company rather than its directors, though persistent non-compliance can lead to the company being struck off. Filing runs through the CyLogin / Ariadni government gateway, where the main hurdle is authenticating the company profile, usually in person at a Citizens Service Centre. The register has not been public since 3 January 2023, so only the authorities and AML-obliged entities such as banks, lawyers, and accountants can see the data.
