Frequently Asked Questions about Holidays in Cyprus

East and West Cyprus are both beautiful but completely different.

Western Cyprus, with Paphos and the Akamas region, offers beautiful nature, UNESCO heritage, and tranquility. Eastern Cyprus, with Ayia Napa and Protaras, is known for its spectacular turquoise beaches and vibrancy. Those looking to go deeper than just a holiday feeling surprisingly often choose the west.

In Cyprus, they drive on the left side of the road, a legacy from the British colonial period that ended in 1960. You get used to it quickly, but it requires extra attention on the first day, especially at roundabouts.

The best time to visit Cyprus is April, May, and June or September, October, and November. The weather is pleasantly warm then (22–28°C), the sea is warmer, and it is less crowded than during the summer peak. July and August are the hottest months, with temperatures reaching over +35°C.

The Republic of Cyprus, the southern and largest part of the island, is Greek-speaking and a member of the European Union. Approximately 97% of the territory of the recognized republic is Greek Cypriot. The northern part has been occupied by Turkey since 1974 and falls under the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
