Cyprus Tour – 14 Days of Charm, Culture and Sea
Day 1 – Arrival in Paphos
Welcome to Paphos! After arriving, you can slowly acclimate to the island. Pick up your rental car, check in at your accommodation, and enjoy your first Cypriot meal by the sea.
The smell of grilled halloumi, fresh fish and the warm evening sun make it immediately clear: the holiday has begun.
Day 2 – Discover the heart of Paphos
Today is entirely dedicated to Paphos itself. Visit the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park, one of the island's most impressive historical sites, with beautiful mosaics and remains of ancient Roman villas. Nearby, you'll also find the Tombs of the Kings, a vast area of ancient tombs dating back to the Hellenistic period.
Be sure to also visit the Kyriakki Church and the catacombs of Agia Solomoni, where visitors hang ribbons as a symbol of hope and healing.
In the afternoon, take a stroll along the Kato Paphos promenade, which stretches for miles along the water and is ideal for enjoying the sea breeze.
In the evening you can enjoy a pleasant dinner with a view of the harbour, where Paphos Castle is beautifully illuminated.
Day 3 – Day trip to Akamas, Blue Lagoon & Latchi
Time for a day trip! Drive from Paphos towards Latchi, a charming fishing village on the north coast. From there, you can take a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon, where the turquoise waters invite you to swim and snorkel. Also, visit the Baths of Aphrodite, an idyllic spot where, according to mythology, the goddess of love herself is said to have bathed. For those seeking adventure, a jeep or quad bike tour through the Akamas Peninsula is highly recommended – rugged nature, secluded bays, and breathtaking views guaranteed. The scenery is unspoiled and breathtakingly beautiful. For the more energetic, you can also enjoy wonderful nature walks with breathtaking views.
On the way back, a stop in Kathikas is highly recommended, where you can also visit a local winery. Cyprus has a wide selection of wineries, and it's definitely worth visiting one during your stay. You can drive back to Paphos along the coastline, where you'll enjoy beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 4 – Adonis Baths & Old Town Paphos
Today is all about relaxation and culture. First, visit the Adonis Baths, a fairytale-like spot with waterfalls and natural pools where you can swim. Legend has it that Aphrodite and Adonis met here. You can also visit Aphrodite's Rock, the birthplace of Aphrodite. Myth has it that whoever swims around the rock will be blessed with eternal beauty. Afterward, it's time to visit Paphos Old Town. Wander the charming streets lined with colorful murals, discover the covered market with charming souvenir shops, and enjoy a drink in the atmospheric square near the town hall. In the evening, you can stroll along the coast to enjoy the sunset over the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 5 – To the Troodos Mountains & overnight in Nicosia
Today you'll head into the mountains! The drive to the Troodos Mountains is an experience in itself, with winding roads and stunning views. Along the way, stop in mountain villages like Omodos or Platres, known for their vineyards and traditional atmosphere. Also visit the impressive Kykkos Monastery, nestled deep among the pine trees and a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, you'll continue to Nicosia, where you'll spend the night in the island's capital.
Day 6 – Discover Nicosia – the divided capital
Nicosia is a city of contrasts: modern and traditional, Greek and Turkish, vibrant and tranquil at the same time. Nicosia is the only city in Europe divided into two countries by a guarded border. Stroll through the old city center within the Venetian walls and cross the Green Line to the Turkish part of the city – a unique experience. Visit the Cyprus Museum and sample local delicacies at the market. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious meal in one of the city's charming restaurants.
Day 7 – Towards Ayia Napa
Today, the journey continues to the island's east coast. Along the way, you'll see the landscape change: from mountains to expansive coastlines. Ayia Napa welcomes you with crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and a vibrant atmosphere. Take a first evening stroll along the harbor or enjoy a cocktail overlooking the sea.
Day 8 – Beach day in Ayia Napa
A day full of sun, sea, and relaxation! Choose one of the beautiful beaches like Nissi Beach or Makronissos Beach. Here you can lounge, swim, or participate in watersports like jet skiing, diving, or paddleboarding. Many boat trips also depart from Ayia Napa – often culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the sea. For diving enthusiasts, a visit to the underwater museum MUSAN is a unique experience. In the evening, you can enjoy the charming holiday atmosphere in the center of Ayia Napa.
Day 9 – Excursion to Protaras and Famagusta / Varosha
Today you'll take a day trip to the northeast of the island. In Protaras, you can stroll along the coast and swim in the famous Fig Tree Bay. Then you'll continue towards Famagusta, a city with impressive city walls and a rich history. Nearby is Varosha, the famous abandoned part of the city. Because this part is located in Turkish territory, this excursion is best organized through an external tour, as you're not always allowed to cross the border with your own car. A day full of culture, history, and wonder.
Day 10 – Cape Greco & Agia Napa Marina
Use this day to enjoy Agia Napa a little more. For example, visit the sea caves of Cape Greco, one of the most beautiful natural spots on the island. Or enjoy a quiet day at the beach with a good book. Cyprus is best experienced at a relaxed pace. The Agia Napa Marina is certainly worth a visit as well; this is a brand-new marina that is still under construction. Here you can spot luxurious yachts and enjoy a delicious drink with a beautiful view.
Day 11 – Larnaca & Lefkara, overnight stay in Limassol
Today you'll head west towards Larnaca. Along the way, you'll stop in Lefkara, the charming mountain village known for its lace and silverwork. The atmosphere here is peaceful and authentic – perfect for a coffee on a sunny terrace. In Larnaca, stroll along the charming Finikoudes Boulevard and visit the Church of St. Lazarus. The Larnaca Salt Lakes are also definitely worth a visit. Enjoy a delicious dinner in Larnaca and soak up the atmosphere. You'll end the day with an overnight stay in Limassol.
Day 12 – Exploring Limassol
Limassol is a vibrant city where old and new collide. Stroll through the old town with its narrow streets, visit the modern marina, and enjoy the beach. Nearby, you'll find the impressive Kourion Theatre, an archaeological site with panoramic sea views. Kolossi Castle is also worth a visit and tells you more about the island's medieval history. In the evening, you can dine along the promenade, which is wonderfully lively. If you're looking to experience Cyprus's nightlife, this is the place to be.
Day 13 – Relax & Wine Tasting
Your last full day in Cyprus is perfect for relaxing. Enjoy a stroll along the coast or a final dip in the sea. Perhaps visit a local winery in the region and sample the famous Commandaria wine. This day is all about reflecting on everything you've seen and experienced over the past few weeks.
Day 14 – Return flight
After a wonderful two-week trip, it's time to say goodbye to this special island. With a head full of sun, stories, and memories, you'll return home – and who knows, maybe you'll even secretly plan your next visit to Cyprus along the way.
