The best regions
Cyprus is a large and diverse island. Each of the four most popular regions has its own unique atmosphere, community, and investment potential. Whether you're looking for sun, tranquility, or returns, making the right choice depends on your goals and desires.
Tip: Looking for a rental for the first few weeks? Check Bazaraki.com or Airbnb for short-term stays. I rented Airbnb for two weeks and found a long-term place to move in within three days.
Limassol is booming. Think skyscrapers, luxury apartments, international companies, and expat investors.
It's not called "the new Dubai" for nothing. But that growth comes at a price: real estate is more expensive here than elsewhere, and the city has a strong Russian and Ukrainian presence.
You pay for prestige – not necessarily for peace of mind or returns.
Thanks to the new marina project, Larnaca is experiencing a new lease on life. It's a city with a more local feel, making life authentic and affordable.
The ROI is currently a little slower than in Paphos, but the long term looks positive.
Paphos combines the best of both worlds.
The real estate market is booming, but the region remains surprisingly affordable. You'll find an international community with a relaxed vibe. Think: sea views, tranquility, and a solid return on investment.
More and more investors and remote workers are consciously choosing Paphos – because they see what is still possible here.
We also highly recommend Paphos and the surrounding regions.
Ayia Napa is the holiday paradise of Cyprus, with the most beautiful beaches and vibrant summer tourism.
However, it is very quiet there in winter.
This makes it particularly interesting for those who focus on seasonal rentals via Airbnb or Booking.com.
Below you can find the current rates.
Beware of so-called consultants who charge significantly more for things like starting your business. Some dare to charge up to €4,000+, while the real standard price is around €1,500.
| Cost | Price indication |
| Cyprus Company Formation | +/- €2.250 |
| Bookkeeping & Accountancy /year | €1.200 – €3.000 |
| Rent real estate | €700 – €2,000/month |
| Purchasing a home | from €150,000 |
| Residence registration / Yellow slip | €250 – €500 |

Cyprus is modern and bank-friendly for expats. You don't need to open a local bank account right away. Most expats, and even locals, use Revolut Bank.

💡 TIP: With Revolut, you can easily pay your rent, accountant, lawyer, or restaurant bill. No hassle with Cypriot banks in your first few weeks.
Do you still want to bank locally? The biggest players are Bank of Cyprus and Hellenic Bank. However, be prepared for a lot of paperwork and in-person appointments. For that very reason, I advise against them. Cash is also common here, but electronic payments are available everywhere.
Setting up a company: 2-3 weeks
Relocation & registration: 1-2 months (faster with good guidance)
Rental home: Search arranged within 2 to 3 days. Move-in is often possible after 24 hours.
Buying a home: possible within one month

You only pay if you truly want intensive, personalized guidance. No overrated packages, no unnecessary costs.

No. Cyprus offers an alternative: the 60-day rule. This means that, under certain conditions, you can be a tax resident even if you stay for just 60 days per year—as long as you have a Cypriot business, can show a lease or property, and are not resident elsewhere.
Ideal for people who travel a lot, in 2 other different countries.
Cyprus has the national healthcare system GESY. As a resident, you pay a small contribution to your income (max. 2.65%) and have access to public healthcare. However, many expats opt for private insurance for faster access and international coverage (from €50/month).
Yes. You can transfer your existing company through redomiciliation, or simply establish a new Cypriot company (often simpler and more cost-effective). Both options have tax advantages.
Cyprus doesn't yet have specific legislation for crypto. Most profits from crypto are considered capital gains and are therefore tax-free. Keep in mind, however, that this may change.
Cyprus has a wide selection of international schools (English, German, Russian), both public and private. There are also good childcare facilities for young children. Living with children here is relatively affordable and safe.
Healthcare is excellent: there are public hospitals under GESY and numerous private clinics offering high-quality care. An appointment with a private doctor costs an average of €30-€60. Dental and aesthetic care are also considerably cheaper here than in Belgium or the Netherlands.
As long as you stay there for no more than 183 days per year, you are considered a Cypriot resident for tax purposes. However, it is important to shift your social, economic, and family ties to Cyprus.
Technically, yes, but it's rarely tax-optimal. It's often more advantageous to set up a Cypriot structure, especially if you want to take advantage of the non-domsitary benefits.
